SOLVE MYSTERY
Become Indiana Jones and decipher the calendar yourself without using internet and books. Calendar consists of 3 different counts or cycles:
* Long Count - is composed of 5 periods, B'ak'tun, K'atun, Tun, Winal and K'in
* Tzolk'in date (counting days of maya sacred year) is defined by symbols on 2 inner rotating rings of the calendar
* Haab' date is defined by symbols on 2 outer rotating rings
QUESTIONS

* Which Long Count period represents day? How many days does each of the other periods have?
* How many days does Tzolk'in year have?
* How many days does Haab' year have?
* What is your mayan date of birth?
Your task is a little easier. You do not have to examine hundreds or even thousands of stone carvings, and collect many possible combinations of glyphs representing date to form the big picture. Our calendar has all you need. If you give up, you can always find answers in Crystal Skull.

Maya Stone Calendar was designed based on app found on a device buried in an ancient mayan temple for thousands of years. Read "Author's Story" on
http://guardedkey.com/MayaCalendar.aspx
Version History Optimized for Vision Pro - recommmended to use in portrait orientation.
Want to have fun in Virtual Reality? Stretch the app view in living room from your knees to a height slightly above your head, walk all the way to the calendar and touch the controls directly, rotate the rings, scroll through documents. Pinch gestures for tapping, dragging and zooming from a distance work just as well.
Fixed mayan long count picker control font. 1.7.1 03/25/2024 Optimized for Vision Pro. 1.7 03/01/2024 Fixed calendar conversion between Mayan and Gregorian calendar to adopt combined Gregorian/Julian calendar system used on new verisons of iOS.
Previously Apple was using proleptic Gregorian calendar system - where calendar date going to the past before the adoption of this calendar on October 4th, 1582 were extrapolated.
Now iOS devices use by default Julian calendar up to October 4th, 1582, next day starts Gregorian calendar with date October 15th, 1582 (instead of 5th - skips 10 days).
Result: App shows Mayan calendar with long count 0.0.0.0.0, 4 Ajaw, 8 Kumk'u converting to September 6th, 3114 BC of Julian calendar system, while previously it was August 11th, 3114 BC.
That's useful when studying history, because historical records dating before October 4th, 1582 use Julian date.
On the other hand not all countries adopted Gregorian calendar on that date, some kept Julian for a few more centuries.
I myself would prefer keeping proleptic Gregorian calendar and perhaps add Julian calendar as another option for conversion, but at the moment it was easier to adopt default Apple's calendar handling.

CRYSTAL SKULL (library of knowledge) - Update 2
1. Mayan Calendar (article) - How mayan calendar works
2. Dresden Codex - mayan book which contains astronomical tables
Note: Older iOS devices with less RAM (random access memory) may not be able to load all pages of Dresden Codex. We recommend using at least iPhone 4 and iPad 2.
In the future we will bring more CRYSTAL SKULL updates. 1.4 02/02/2014 CRYSTAL SKULL update brings ancient library of knowledge
1. Book of all Calendar Symbols - learn glyphs, tap on glyph and hear pronunciation

Bug fixes:
1. Alarm clock indicator (sea shell) - when alarm clock was set and the app closed and relaunched, sea shell was not shown to indicate that the alarm was set. This is fixed and sea shell is shown as expected. 1.3 01/03/2014 1. Added great feature for Archeologists and enthusiasts who would like to decipher date on mayan monuments. Date picker for Mayan Long Count was added in this version. Now you can set mayan periods of B'ak'tun, K'atun, Tun, Winal, K'in.
See on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0q1EJ1O8iE
2. Added Alarm Clock. You can set alarm to any date and time in the future.
See on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRHOPwETRdc
3. Bug Fix: When the device was in landscape orientation and user changed the orientation to horizontal (face up or face down) transition to another view caused controls to be shown incorrectly. Fixed for all devices. 1.2 07/05/2012 1. iPad version updated for high resolution screen.
2. Bug fix - when calendar reached date Dec 31 99999 stepping to the next day caused crash because this is maximal date of iOS date picker control. Fix resolves this issue by leaving date picker set to this max date and allowing Maya Date to continue to Jan 1 100000 and beyond. This fix however does not guarantee that the world doesn't end on Dec 21 2012. If you want to avoid 2012 Apocalypse you have to press pyramid button and continue giving sacrifices to mayan gods. 1.1 04/19/2012 1.0 04/05/2012
